The Will Of God For You
It is the will of God for you to enjoy life to the fullest here on earth and also to make it to heaven. His word says in Isaiah, ‘If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land’ (1:19). Anything that hinders the promises of God in your life is definitely not God’s will for you life. If it happens this way, it is time to pray to God for a change; except in some cases God may be taking you through a course or a test in life.
When we consider the children of Jacob, the Israelites, we see promises of God fulfilled in their lives. For example in Exodus 3:16,17 ‘The Lord said to Moses ‘Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, “I have surely visited you and seen what is done to you in Egypt; and I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey’.
The Israelites knew this promise and believed in it that it was the will of God for them to possess that land flowing with milk and honey. When they came close to that land, spies were sent, who came back and testified that indeed the land flows with milk and honey.
Then Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way into the South, and go up to the mountains, and see what the land is like: whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, few or many; whether the land they dwell in is good or bad; whether the cities they inhabit are like camps or strongholds; whether the land is rich or poor; and whether there are forests there or not. Be of good courage. And bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the season of the first ripe grapes. So they went up and spied out the land from the Wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, near the entrance of Hamath. And they returned from spying out the land after forty days. Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Numbers 13:17-21, 25-27
Indeed the Lord brought the Israelites into that land which flows with milk and honey though there were giants on the land. I speak into your life now, though there may be obstacles to your promised land, you shall surely possess what belongs to you in Jesus’ Name! With a strong hand, you are coming out of your struggles!
So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, “a land flowing with milk and honey” – Deuteronomy 26:8,9
As much as you want it, it is also the will of God for your life to be blessed and to enjoy the good of the land so that you can be a channel of blessing to others. This is your heritage.
You shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess – Deuteronomy 5:33
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live – Deuteronomy 30:19
God has no evil intentions or destructive plans for your life. There are times when you go through difficulties you are tempted to think God is behind that – not always the case except that your faith is tested – God has No delight inflicting pain on you; actually wants the best for your life. His word says in Jeremiah ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope’ – Jeremiah 29:11
His burden is light and his yoke is easy. If it is not light or easy, it is neither his burden nor his yoke. If God lays on your heart to do something, He provides the means, you won’t be left alone to struggle through it all. Don’t be afraid to step up in taking His yoke and burden. Have you been called to do something for God? This is the moment to respond!
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light – Matthew 11:30
