The Power In the Word Of God
I want to address the power in the word of God as I share with you this message.
Let me ask you a question; when you wake up in the morning, which of these do you pick up first – your phone and Bible?
Yes! You may have installed a Bible on your phone, but in a given day, how often do you read the Bible on your phone? How much time do you give to using apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram, and the games you play? Do you give the same amount of time to using the Bible app? Think about it!
If you do a proper analysis of how you spend your time, you will realize that a smaller portion or nothing is given to reading the word of God.
Man has three major problems in life; sin, sickness, and poverty – God’s word, which many have neglected has power over all problems of life.
‘For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.’
In explaining the word of God, there is the SPOKEN word (rhema), the WRITTEN word (logos), and the LIVING Word (the Person of Jesus).
I am emphasising on the power of the written word of God, which is the Holy Bible, written by forty authors through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Note that the Holy Bible is a manual or handbook given to man by God; it is man’s road map to success in life and the Kingdom of Heaven.

Note also, that the Bible is not just a history book, although it contains the history of God’s people; it is a LIVING BOOK which contains instructions for your well-being! The word of God contains life and power – you must depend on it!
As a result of Satan’s plan to undermine the authenticity and effectiveness of the Holy Bible, there have risen many controversies and debates on its accuracy, translations, and credibility. None of his plans has been successful – millions of Bibles have been burnt and destroyed in diverse places in the past, yet today you find Bibles in almost every home, every library, online and offline and on our computers and phones.
There is wonder working power in the word of God, have faith in it. If you throw away the Bible, you have thrown away your life. King David when advising his son Solomon who was yet to succeed him said,
‘As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; For the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts; If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.’ 1 Chronicles 28:9
HELP FROM THE BIBLE
In the business world, the Bible DOES NOT condemn making money or becoming rich. It rather encourages working to earn a living but condemns being lazy. The love of money is also condemned! Some people believe money is evil – that’s wrong. Money in general is not evil. How money is acquired, and the use of it might be evil. The love of money leads to all kinds of evil. The Bible commands us to LOVE GOD only. Reference: 1 Timothy 6:10
The divine wisdom and knowledge for legitimate money making and amassing wealth can be found in the word of God. Abraham, Solomon, Job, and Joseph became wealthy people and commanded financial fortune because they walked diligently with God and applied the principles of making wealth by the word that came from God. As for Joseph, he became a prime minister in a foreign land because God was with him. Examine carefully the following Bible verses;
A feast is made for laughter, And wine makes merry; But money answers everything. Ecclesiastes 10:19
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9
The Bible has power to set you free from the bondage of sin. It is the solution to living a life free from sin. David wrote in the book of Psalms (119:9; 11), ‘How can a young man cleanse his ways? By taking heed according to Your word; Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.’ – Read More
