Do Not Watch If You Are A Christian – A Must Read For Every Christian
In this writing, I bring to you 7 Biblical reasons why you should not watch pornography.
Many are addicted and are struggling to be free but the battle seems insurmountable. Many others are comfortable with the life style of consuming pornographic contents because they have their conscience seared with a ‘hot iron’ – they see nothing wrong with this habit and even when you try to expose to them the physical and spiritual dangers involved, they will either ignore or attack you.
The Purpose Of This Writing
This writing is purposely for the body of Christ, the Church, because the Spirit of God expressly reveals that in the last days some Christians, members of the body of Christ will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron. (1Timothy 4:1-2). For those who are not yet part of the Church, there is hope for them to be liberated; but it is sad how their minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them – the gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. (2Corinthians 4:3, 4). This writing is to liberate you from the chains and addiction to pornography in the light of God’s word.
Why Watch Pornography?
What will make a Christian switch on the computer to watch pornography? Why would one who claims ‘Christ in me’ view sexually motivating contents on the phone and in magazines? The reasons involved are diverse and many. The factors which influence the watching of pornography could range from mental, emotional, physical to spiritual.
Biblical Points To Consider
Straightaway, let us look at some points put forward by the Bible suggesting that if you are a Christian you SHOULD NOT WATCH PORNOGRAPHY
Your body is part of the body of Christ
As a Christian you are in God’s family. The family of God is one big union or body of believers all over the world. The body of believers all around the world form the spiritual body of Christ. When you involve yourself in pornography, you are disconnecting from Christ’s body physically and spiritually. Gradually, you may also find it difficult to fellowship with the brethren, go to church, pray or read your Bible.
Pornography is harlotry
A harlot is someone who practices sexual activities with another person not married to – a person who lives a low and debased moral life. There is a saying that ‘you are what you eat’, for that matter, you are what you watch – you are watching someone practising harlotry – you are becoming part of the pornographic community. You are practising harlotry by watching harlots! Shall you then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! – Read More
